Independence Day

At District Probation and After Care Association Thane, we celebrate Independence Day every 15th of August with great joy and enthusiasm. On this national occasion, we gather at our organization, hoist the National Flag, and sing the anthem with deep reverence. Our secretary organizes a cultural program where residents of our home actively participate. They are enriched with stories of the sacrifices and bravery of our ancestors who liberated India from British colonial rule, fostering a sense of patriotism and pride.

Republic Day

Maharashtra Day

On Maharashtra Day, celebrated on May 1st, we come together with our inmates to honour the state’s rich heritage. The day includes special activities and events that highlight Maharashtra’s cultural and historical significance. Our residents participate enthusiastically, fostering a sense of pride and unity. We also offer treats to mark the occasion, creating a festive and inclusive atmosphere for all.

Ambedkar Jayanti

Ambedkar Jayanti is also celebrated to honour the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, a prominent figure in India’s social justice movement. It’s a day to commemorate his contributions to equality, justice, and empowerment, particularly for marginalized communities. Through various events and programs, we pay tribute to his legacy and strive to uphold his ideals of inclusivity and dignity for all.

Shivaji Jayanti

Gandhi Jayanti

Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated in our organization on 2nd October. We hold an event to honor Mahatma Gandhi’s dedication and commitment to freeing India from British colonial rule. Our authorities present a garland to his photograph, and residents gather to learn about Gandhiji’s immense contributions to India’s history, his philosophy of non-violence, and the role he played in shaping the nation’s freedom struggle.

Raksha Bandhan

In our child home, the inmates joyfully celebrate Raksha Bandhan every year. On this day, the girls tie threads on the boys’ wrists, symbolizing the strong bond between them. The boys, in return, give gifts to the girls, and sweets are distributed among everyone. It’s a day filled with joy, laughter, and the celebration of sibling-like affection, creating a warm and festive atmosphere in our home.

Dahi handi

Our Janmashtami celebration concludes with the fun and traditional event of Dahi Handi, a popular game in Maharashtra. Our children take part in it and learn about this old tradition. It’s not just about having fun but also teaches them important lessons about working together, facing challenges bravely, and supporting each other. The event is a joyful way to celebrate while learning valuable life skills.

Diwali

Diwali, the festival of lights, is celebrated with great joy at our home. The residents wear new dresses and enjoy a delicious meal, creating a festive and happy atmosphere. This special occasion brings brightness and warmth, allowing the children to experience the joy and traditions of Diwali, making it a memorable celebration for everyone.

Eid

We also celebrate Eid every year with great enthusiasm. At our organization, festivals from diverse religions and backgrounds are embraced. On the occasion of Eid, the children enjoy sweets and a delicious meal, making the day special and fostering a sense of unity and joy among all.
